Motherhood means ... No. 20

A second beautiful day. Another good day for the continuing job of splitting, stacking and generally cleaning up the trees we cut down three weeks ago.

Motherhood means ...
... abandoning one's usual profound meditations on the meaning of life, the universe and Umberto Eco, and instead wondering why the hell you should have to get out a set of screwdrivers to open the packaging containing a purple plastic horse ...

Not Grandma's packaging, but the manufacturer...and thank-you, Grandma, for the horse - B loves it!

What a fabulous blog! My husband & I live in Germany, & we've been to Italy only once -- gorgeous! I found you on Lady Bloggers, by the way :) I hope that your kiddos are happy now that their horse is out to play!

LOL! I hear you... it's almost as if the manufacturer's don't want us to be able to actually use their toys!

Dropping by from the Lady Bloggers Tea Party. Am really enjoying myself, pretending that I too am in Italy. Your writing has such a lovely, quiet eloquence; and humour too! Such a rare combination.

I look forward to returning.

LOL!! Seems to me that everything is overpackaged, if that's a word, nowadays! As I'm getting older I find so much that is getting harder and harder for me and my weak wrists to open! Grateful for screwdrivers and Exacto knives!

Thanks for stopping by! Love your neck of the woods - hope it's a tad warmer there now than here in Andalucia!

LOLA:)

That made me smile as I have in the past battled with many such tough issues ;-) Can you believe it, we finally have a glimpse of Spring in the UK, sunny and 14 degrees, positively mediteranean ;-)
