First snowfall

The Lady with the Lamp, on her 3am rounds to patients with coughs, colds and phantom tummy aches, noted snow falling in great big fluffy clumps on Carmine Superiore. This morning there was a picturesque dusting on the roofs of Sant'Agata, which lies about 100m higher than Carmine Superiore.

Winter is declared!

First snow in Hannover, Germany was reported yesterday (by the children on the way to school). Today it's snowing even more! :-)

The snow has arrived earlier than last year I think, snow reported in Milano this am!

Its the frosts that do the damage, -6c last night and not much above freezing this afternoon. Snow on the way, then it must be getting a little warmer. The dear old weatherman predicts two more weeks of this lot.

Yes, I think we had the first snow on the ground in Carmine in the week before Christmas last year ... although they may have had snow higher up in the Valle Cannobina, etc.
