We once had a tame cockerel that used to come to the back door for titbits and eventually became so bold that he used to come into the kitchen and warm himself by the Aga. You cannot send him back to the chicken pen when he is healed you know!

Ooer. Your blog layout's gone a bit doolally - trying to click into the comments brings up a second, duplicate post, with the comments box underneath the second one only. Confused the heck out of me for a good few minutes, but then I did used to be blonde.
Chickeninthekitchen would certainly be a tongue twister for all the Italians I teach. Most of them use the words interchangeably, which makes for interesting conversations in class. "I cook kitchen in the chicken. I like kitchen!" - Friday, 19 February, 2010

I am so jealous.
I'm still trying to work out how to build a chicken house, or buy one without going bankrupt.
I want a chickin in the kitchin too ! - Friday, 19 February, 2010

Hiya all -- thanks for your lovely comments! Katya -- that's what I get for screwing around with the template! I can't see how to fix it in the HTML, so I have a query out with Blogger Help. We'll see if anyone replies!

What a fun story! So that one egg is the pro that trumps and the chickin stays in the kitchin... Loved your skiing story too!
