Sunday
The hunt mustered up in the expectant blackness of 5am and have disappeared into the woods to see if they can bring home some fat and juicy wild boar or, if not, some fat and juicy porcini mushrooms (permesso permitting). Or failing that, some long, thin Stan-Laurel chiodini mushrooms, which are just as tasty.
You have to like autumn, if only for its wild food.

I love autumn, and the wild food. Except the autumn freeze this weekend killed all the tomatoes and peppers I hadn't picked yet. Ouch.

Despite a good forecast for today, it poured with rain this morning, but after a while we got a touch of Autumn sunshine. Its turned cold now with a North Westerly wind. The latest forecast is for a ground frost tonight, we will see if they are right this time. Good luck to the huntsmen, hope they bring home the bacon !

Autumn is alway great if you have the wonderful colors to make the turning weather a bit more digestible! But mushroom hunting sounds divine!
