Have you heard of a book called The Collection of Sicilian Folk and Fairy tales of Giuseppe Pitre? It looks wonderful and will be available where I live in July. It looks like it costs about $700 right now for the original translation?!...I'll have to wait until it comes out in paperback! Mr. Pitre was a doctor who wrote down folktales of his patients.

@ Chairman Bill : Yes, I guess it's the equivalent. The Casa Parriochiale is where the priest responsible for the parish (including S. Gottardo here in Carmine) lives and has his offices.
@Loren : No I haven't heard of this one. I have Calvino's collection of Italian folk tales, which is delightful. But the one you mention sounds fascinating - I'll look it up.
Lovely light at this time of year. Better than London gloom.
