Hi Louise, I really like the grafitti, but in its proper place, as it can be so destructive.

Lovely colours. Interesting that bimbo is used in normal parlance in Italian with no connotations, but in English it is a bad thing to say about someone. Also that we call a girl a bimbo, but that's the masculine form...

Love that inscription on the door! The door itself looks really old. Is it?

@CathyM I found the images skulking on my camera one day!
@ladyfi The door is attached to one of the churches in the Cannobio old quarter. I have no idea how to date these things, but I guess it must be fairly old as these things go. Every time I pass by, I find myself drowning in the beautiful colour. - Saturday, 14 February, 2009

Happy Valentine's Day. I love turquoise and those doors remind me of Caribbean doors. How can you do laundry in such cold conditions? Is the water hot?

Hi Sonia, Yes, thank god the water's hot! At the start there was no hot water here and only one tap. I insisted on a hot water shower for the first winter I spent here full-time. But it resided in the above-mentioned lean-to and one night I hung up a sweatshirt to dry just after I'd taken my shower and it froze stiff in ten minutes flat...
