Before the snow : Carmine Inferiore

One degree at 9am. Overcast, grey and foggy - the Alps have disappeared from view, and the winter gulls are coasting in and out of the mist in a fairly ghostlike fashion. Nothing like the day on which I took the photo below, just before Christmas.

Louise I know it's kind of obvious, but what's the difference between Carmine Inferiore and Superiore, I mean geographically or whatever....

Another great photograph. Brrr it looks frosty.
-4oC here overnight with fog. Ice everywhere in the UK

Hi Braja - Carmine Superiore is about 100m above the lake and is the original 1,000-year-old village (that's where the lunatics live). All the sane people built houses below at the lakeside some time after the Second World War. That's where we park the car and start the walk up home.
