Not in wet and windy England

Eight degrees at 8:30am. Cloudy with occasional sunshine. Thinking about the rain-sodden Cumbrians...the best we can do here is a particularly heavy dew.

Be thankful for just the dew. Here in Yorkshire it is damp-sodden and they have had it particularly bad further north. Around here we watch the sky and watch the river levels and dream of summer.

Almost sounds like you miss it. :)

I rather wish I hadn't flicked over to sky news just before going to bed.

Those poor people, I mixed up the footage with my memories of wading out into the streets after finishing my last class and navigating Bangkok in thigh deep water and had horrible dreams of swimming cockroaches in Basingstoke, desperately trying to get to my sister's house.

Had to turn it off this morning, Son of Thor was getting dubious about the upcoming visit in Feb. I did explain that it wasn't the whole country underwater but the news of a policeman washed away did little to help me convince him.

Not sure my strategy of watching the news with breakfast to open our mornings schooling is all it is cracked up to be.

Sarah! Blame the ovaltine for the cockroaches! We have no tv here, and if I want to see any news I go to BBC online news. Then, if the children are around I can select the stories I think will interest them and provide an opportunity to chat about something without giving THEM cockroach nightmares! Hope that policeman makes it...

Oh that I could get my hands on ovaltine...must do an international shop trawl next time I'm in Milan, you've given me a yen for it LOL.

Sorry Louise the policeman didn't make it. He looked like the typical village bobby, nothing like the yobs in the Met.
