First fruits
Twenty degrees at 8am. Bright, warm, humid, with a breeze.
That breeze? It's bringing down the first sweet chestnuts and littering our prato with walnuts. I'm off for a bit of a forage. Beats cleaning the kitchen floor...
So much better than housework! We have been enjoying hazelnuts and the first few walnuts, I must go and investigate the sweet chestnuts this afternoon.
“The difficulty with this conversation is that it's very different from most of the ones I've had of late. Which, as I explained, have mostly been with trees.” - Douglas Adams
Can't say I've ever had a chestnut, but walnuts yes! Wishing a good harvest!
